ZZ Top parties at Hard Rock

Dsc_0210zz So, you already know there was a red carpet event open to the public at Hard Rock Cafe last night, featuring ZZ Top.  I decided to go inside the event to give you a look at all the action, up close and personal, if you weren't able to make it there yourself.

Here are the photos - Check 'em out!

Fans were eager to see the legendary Houston trio - Billy Gibbons, Dusty Hill and Frank Beard.  They hit the red carpet in full rock star style and did a few interviews as lined up fans who couldn't get inside looked on.

Dsc_0008 Just outside the restaurant, fans were constantly pulled into the action during a live webcast by WoozyFly.com.  Also checking out the party to bring you the inside scoop was Houston's DISH.  (Don't know her yet?  Check her out!)

The party was mainly to premiere ZZ Top's first-ever live concert DVD, Live From Texas.  The assembled fans got a sneak-peek preview -- and they appeared to love it.  (I must say, corny or not, I was highly entertained when the crowd ALL pulled out the shades for Cheap Sunglasses!)  The party atmosphere seemed almost like a concert itself - except for the hard-working wait staff doing their best to deliver food and drinks in the packed house.

Unfortunately, some of the fans who sought autographs probably went home a little disappointed.  It would have been nice if the boys in the band had been allowed a little more time to address the audience.  At one point, the organizers were even trying to get the microphone away from Billy so they could start showing the DVD.  But he refused to get off the stage before he finished telling this joke.
